How does Blood Suckers work?
You can bet between C$0.25 and C$ 50 per spin. You do this by setting the coin value to a minimum of C$ 0.01 and a maximum of C$ 0.50. The bet level, which we consider the number of coins you bet per payline, can be set between 1 and 4. With a payout percentage of 98 percent and the variance of Blood Suckers, you can bet a little higher here than you might normally do on an online slot.
The Wild symbol is a vampire about to sink his teeth into the neck of a young, blonde woman. This symbol is not only Wild, but also pays out if you have at least 2 of them on any of the 25 paylines. You get 5 coins (per bet level) if you have two in a row and a whopping 7,500 coins (per bet level) if you have five in a row. Five of these Wild symbols will therefore earn you up to a maximum of C$14,000 per payline.
The symbol is Wild for about eight symbols that fall relatively often in the base game. These are typical characters and attributes you would expect to see in a creepy movie about vampires. Garlic, holy writings, chemical concoctions and of course a vampire with a glass of fresh blood.
Bonus Game
The bonus symbol is a set of hammers. With blood of course. If you have three, four or five of them, you unlock the bonus game. This bonus game is a pick-‘n-click bonus. There are twelve coffins laid out for you. You may open these one by one.
A coffin contains either a vampire or nothing. Do you open a coffin with a vampire? Then you stab it with a wooden point. Then you get a few hundred coins. Do you open an empty chest? Then you are “finished. You then return to the basic game with the coins collected up to that point.
Of the twelve chests, three are empty and nine of the chests contain a vampire. This bonus game falls often. Usually you win somewhere between 0 and 50 times your total bet.
Scatter free spins
Pricking vampires to death is not the only bonus feature on Blood Suckers. There is also a free spins game that you can unlock with scatter symbols. The scatter symbol is a bride who is scared to death. Presumably because the vampire comes running at her, ready to slurp the blood from her neck.
The number of free spins is ten by default, regardless of whether you have three, four or five scatter symbols. During these free spins you play with a multiplier of three. So all winning combinations you spin will pay out three times as much. There is one exception to this: the bonus game in which you prick vampires simply pays the regular amount.
That shouldn't spoil the fun, of course. Five Wild symbols on one of the paylines means 22,500 coins per bet level. So that can add up to 90,000 coins or C$ 45,000. A stark contrast to the other symbols. Five times the ghoul with the red hat earns you 1,500 coins per bet level in the bonus game instead of the 500 you get for it in the base game.
Unlike the tombstone bonus, this bonus game falls particularly infrequently.
What do we think of Blood Suckers?
This slot is prime evidence that a high payout percentage is not blissful either. Blood Suckers does indeed pay out a relatively large amount of the deposit with 98 percent, but this is done in very small portions. It is all very exciting though. Ominous sounds can be heard in the background and the random number generator sprinkles scatter and bonus symbols liberally. Almost every spin you have a few and thus ‘almost' the bonus game.
You need to have a few Wild symbols in a row – and preferably on several of the 25 active paylines – to really spring out of your seat during the basic game. The bonus game is a little better. You get triple wins. But triple of “very much” still doesn't mean a hole in the ceiling.
The best part is still the bonus game with the coffins. This bonus game drops often and – especially compared to the rest of the slot machine – sometimes yields nice amounts. Tip: Check the bonus conditions. Is Blood Suckers not excluded from wagering your bonus? Then use this slot for that.
